# File requirements

For integrators.

Before your account is approved, 3DAPI reviews 10 of your files. These are the reasons files get rejected, so check them before you submit. They also make every later order print well.

## Formats

Quote `.stl`, `.3mf`, `.obj`, `.step` or `.stp` files of up to 250 MiB, uploaded with the `quote_file` purpose ([Uploads](https://public-api.dapi.digital/docs/guides/uploads.md)). A `.3mf` project is the best choice: it carries your colours, filaments and print settings, which 3DAPI reads to suggest materials.

## Print settings

Files are printed on Bambu Lab P1S printers with a 0.4 mm nozzle. In a `.3mf`, include the full print settings:

- 0.20 mm layer height.
- P1S printer profile, 0.4 mm nozzle.
- Supports enabled, on the build plate only.

Plain mesh files (`.stl`, `.obj`, `.step`) are sliced with these settings.

## Colours

At most 4 colours (filament slots) per file. Each slot you print with gets a catalog material when you order (`list_materials`, readable before approval too).

## Geometry

- The mesh is closed (manifold), with no self-intersecting faces. Non-manifold or self-intersecting geometry fails slicing, and `failure_reason` says so.
- No wall or detail is thinner than 0.45 mm.
- The model has a flat bottom to sit on the build plate.
- It fits the P1S build plate and stays clear of its exclusion zone.

## The review, and after it

Submit 10 ready quotes with [Submit sample files for review](https://public-api.dapi.digital/docs/reference/integrator-onboarding.md). People review them file by file, which usually takes 24 to 48 hours, and you get an email when the review is done; a rejected file carries its reason in `approval.reason`. Approved files stay approved, so after rejections you only submit replacements.

Once your account is approved there is no review per file: an order goes to production as soon as its quote is `ready`, so these requirements are yours to keep from then on.
